Directing, making, dramaturgy, drama schools, producing, stage managing

I am a theatre director & dramaturg from East London. I want my work to make you wonder about the gap between perception and ‘reality’ and the point where our interiority collides with the external world. At the moment, I am exploring adapting novels, films and works in translation for the stage via a DYCP from the Arts Council.

I am currently the Associate Director to Michael Grandage on My Master Builder by Lila Raicek and on the national tour of Birdsong, directed by Alastair Whatley.

I have directed plays at Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, Mountview Academy, ArtsEd, the Wardrobe Theatre, Edinburgh Fringe and created work for Histrionic Productions.  From 2019-20, I was Resident Assistant Director at Shakespeare's Globe, assisting Sean Holmes and Ilinca Radulian on Henry VI and Richard III. In 2022, I returned to the Globe to assist Sean Holmes again on Hamlet.

I sit on the National Theatre script panel and am passionate about dramaturgy, supporting director Connie Treves on The Conference of the Trees, a Sufi epic for Good Chance Theatre and Colostrum by Liv Hennessy, shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Playwriting. I provided dramaturgical support to Bertrand Lesca & Nasi Voutsas on their Total Theatre award-winning shows Palmyra & One.

In 2020-21, together with neuroscientist Maddy Payne, Barney McElholm and lots of cool young people, I developed Becoming, a project about moments of change, for our company EMERGE(ncy) PARTY, supported by the Unicorn Theatre, Arts Council England and the Wellcome Trust

Before training on the MFA in Theatre Directing at Birkbeck, I produced the international tour of MANWATCHING for the Royal Court Theatre. I was associate producer in artist development at Bristol Old Vic Ferment. I also worked with MAYK, Mayfest, In Between Time Festival, Situations, Sleepdogs, Still House, Sam Halmarack, Andy Field, Britt Hatzius, Theatre SKAM and 600 HIGHWAYMEN.

I had an agony aunt radio show with Jude Shapiro on Margate Radio @Woe_800.
